Everything you need for a quick fix

Each tool does one job well. Drop a file, pick a preset, download. Chain tools without re-uploading, or drop several files to batch them. No timeline to learn.

How it works

Three steps, zero uploads

  1. Drop a video

Drag any MP4, MOV, WebM or MKV onto the page. It is read straight from your disk.

  2. Pick a preset

Fit under Discord’s limit, cut to 15 seconds, crop to 9:16. The sensible option is already selected.

  3. Download

Your device encodes the result, usually in seconds. Preview it, check the size, save it.

Why myownvid

Built the way a video tool should be

Other sites upload your file to their servers, cap the free tier and stamp a logo on the result. We do none of that, because the work happens on your device.

Nothing is uploaded

The file is read straight from your disk and processed by your browser. There is no server, so there is nothing to leak, store or delete.

Faster than any upload

Your device’s hardware encoder does the work. No queue, no upload bar, no waiting for a download afterwards.

No watermark, no account

Every tool is free with no sign-up, no export cap, no resolution limit and no logo stamped on your video.

Presets that match real limits

Discord, WhatsApp, email, Reels: pick the destination and the settings are already right.

Common questions

Is myownvid really free?

Yes. Every tool is free, with no watermark, no account and no limits on file size, length or resolution. There is nothing to upgrade to.

How can it work without uploading my video?

Modern browsers include WebCodecs, an interface to the hardware video encoders and decoders in your device. myownvid is a static website that uses it to read, transform and write video files entirely in memory on your machine.

Which browsers are supported?

Current versions of Chrome, Edge, Safari and Firefox on desktop, plus Chrome and Safari on Android and iOS. Chrome and Edge support the widest range of codecs, including HEVC on most systems.

Is there a file size limit?

Not from us. The result is assembled in your device’s memory, so a phone may struggle with multi-gigabyte files while a laptop handles them fine.

What happens to my files?

Nothing. They are read from your disk, processed in your browser and offered back as a download. When you close the tab, everything is gone. We never see them.

Does it work offline?

Yes. After your first visit the site is stored by your browser, so every tool keeps working without an internet connection. Turn off Wi-Fi and try it.

Can I process several files at once?

Yes. Most tools accept several files dropped together and process them one after another with the same settings, then offer the results one by one or as a ZIP.
